KILL ME NOW I'M SICK Need Home Remedies/ideas
UGH, anybody have any home remedies for an ear infection? My ears have been bothering me for a couple weeks but have gotten almost unbearable in the last two days. I did not miss a day of work though even though its been pretty miserable.....but that i'm proud of. Can't afford a missed day out of paycheck. But this is a 3 day weekend!! And i am going to an Ashlee Simpson concert this sunday!! I'm very nervous about being at a loud concert with all the loud speakers with my ear infection but ahh well i have had these tickets for months i am not missing it!.. Any suggestions on how to feel better are welcomed!
Forgot to mention I don't have any insurance of any kind. So obtaining antiboitics isn't going to be easy

pop loads of antibiotics and douche your ear with hot water in the shower. hope you feel better soon!
Apparently vinegar's supposed to help, but I have my doubts.
Mom always dribbled warm mineral oil in our ears when they hurt... no idea if it helped or hindered the healing, but it felt pretty good :)
This is what you do for relief...
#1) take a wash cloth, get it wet with hot water, even nuking it in the micro, wrap it in a plastic bag, place dry wash cloth over that. Place on hurting ear and lay on it. The steam travels up and causes reverse pressure, giving sweet comfort.
#2)you can also blow warm air into your ear to cause temporary relief. Use a blow dryer on low if you don't have a willing person.
#3) go buy some tea tree oil. Place the whole bottle in hot water to warm it up, lay down and place several drops in your hurting ear. Tea tree has natural disinfectant properties in it, and it WILL make you feel better.
#4) you simply must get a RX for antibiotics from the doc and ask for some numbing ear drops. I just did this for my daughter the past three days and has made a world of difference for her.
You are welcome!

I am the mother of 6, here are some of the things that have worked for me.
1. Make sure your sinus's arent blocked.
2.Use garlic oil in ear, not only soothes the pain, it actually has antibotics *herbal* to help heal an infection.
3. If its painful, a warm hairdryer set on low heat will ease the pain.
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Thanks for all of your remedies... I have tried almost all of them so far... (I left work early on Thursday and stayed home all day today friday) None of the oils have relieved the pain but applying heat has lessened the stabbing pain at times. I think my next stop is Dr's office :(. Wish me luck and keep the ideas coming THANKS
